I did a hip replacement surgery by Dr. James Chen. He did the best surgery with his experties. Since after the surgery until now, I feel truly satisfied with the procedure, and absolutely grateful for being his patient. He is a very calm person and always helping patients mentally and emotionally to make the procedure more comfortable. He is the best. My entire experience with hip replacement surgery was excellent. Dr Chen explanations were easy to understand and the actual surgery resulted in very little pain, no limping ever and the usage of a walker and a cane minimal and for a very short time. I had my surgery in November and look forward to hiking in the Redwood forest in July. Meanwhile I am walking everywhere and so grateful for the changes in my life.
The front desk staff, nurse assistants, and X-ray tech were all friendly, informative and efficient. Dr. Chen really listened to all of my concerns and addressed each one. I was surprised that he gave me so much time and attention. He also gave me a steroid injection, which I think is very appropriate after 2 months of online physical therapy trying to heal on my own. He took my desire to do some in person PT seriously and ordered it. He is also very personable. I’m delighted to be a new patient with him!

Dr. James Chen performed my total hip replacement revision surgery six months ago. He treated me with respect, patiently answering all my questions, was friendly, kind, extremely informative, and highly professional. His staff was supportive, helpful, and welcoming as well. The hospital surgical team during my surgery prep also spoke highly of Dr. Chen regarding his strong medical skills, professional ethics, and warm, welcoming personality. Dr. Chen and his staff are the best! So far, my total hip replacement surgery has gone very well. Dr. Chen is pleased with the results and I'm able to resume all activities and exercise. I highly recommend Dr. Chen!
Dr Chen was friendly and knew his stuff. I have spoken to many in the Orthopedic marketplace and he has excelled in knowledge and explains the options in an easy to understand way. There is no doubt that when my time comes to have knee replacement, Dr. Chen will be my go to guy.
Dr James Chen is the best! He gave me a new left knee 2 yrs ago. Great experience. 2 1.2 months later I was back on the tennis crt. Next week I am getting the 2nd knee replaced. Will be easy too.
